Courtney yesterday joined more than 30 other featured artists, the full 80-piece symphony orchestra and stage band for the sound check rehearsal at the Qantas Credit Union Arena (formerly the Sydney Entertainment Centre) ahead of four performances this tomorrow and Saturday.
Today they will be joined by the full 3600-strong cast, including 2000 dancers and a 1300-voice choir, from more than 400 public schools across NSW for the first full dress rehearsal.
Together they will produce a kaleidoscope of colour and emotions ranging from iconic massed dances filling the entire arena through to intimate solo moments.
Each item will contribute to this year’s theme: This is Australia.
Musical genres range from rock and hip hop to classical and opera highlighting the limitless talents and excellence in performance and creativity being nurtured in the state’s public schools.
