A true milestone
NOW here’s a true milestone in the history of the Lithgow district community. On Friday of next week the University of Western Sydney will be hosting the first graduation ceremony for students at the Lithgow college. It’s officially designated the Inaugural Foundation Graduation Ceremony and will be a big occasions for the graduating students and their families. The significance of this occasion should not be lost on anyone. The UWS broke new ground for the Lithgow district with the opening of its campus in the superbly restored Hoskins Institute this year, as did the University of Notre Dame with its rural clinical school a year earlier. And next year UWS will be expanding the courses on offer at Lithgow and will surely go from strength to strength. A round of applause for the Class of 2014 — the first of many to come.
