Following the visit Mr Toole said this was a tremendous opportunity.
“It was quite an experience to see first hand the facilities that are available for the mining industry here in Lithgow.
“I know that Mines Rescue enjoy the highest reputation in the mining industry and this is a unit that provides great confidence to our mining workers in this area.
“Across the state, Mines Rescue have more than 90 years’ experience assisting the mining industry to manage risk and operate safely.
“Mines Rescue’s primary role is to provide underground incident response, an area where they excel as a result of harnessing the expertise of decades of experience and the most modern equipment and training facilities.
“Mines Rescue also plays a pivotal role in training, to ensure the highest quality standards are maintained.
“Some of the training that is undertaken encompasses long term practical experience in underground and surface mining response; emergency preparedness and mines rescue training.
“These courses and Mines Rescues’ preventative safety training work towards ensuring that all workers are given protection and aid in supporting safe and healthy workplaces.
“All of their training courses are also developed by emergency response professionals.”
Coal Services’ Chairman Wayne McAndrew, who accompanied Mr Toole on the visit, said it was a pleasure to welcome Mr Toole to the Lithgow premises.
“This was a great opportunity to demonstrate and discuss the importance of what Mines Rescue, and most importantly the whole of Coal Services offers the Lithgow and surrounding mining community.
