IT was a special night for Lithgow Bears Centennial Coal Cup rugby league captain Jim Reinhardt when he picked up a swag of awards at the club’s annual presentation.

The big forward was named the Bears’ Player of the Year and also the Referee’s Best and Fairest.
Reinhardt was a popular choice with the crowd that attended the presentation at the club’s sponsor the Court House Hotel.
Reinhardt is a past winner of the award and was again proud to take out the prestigious award.
Other awards were:
Players Player: Harley Osland, who also took out the club’s highest try scoring award along with Jake Gillespie.
Highest points scorer: Jarrod Miller.
Coach’s award: Boe Biles.
Rookie of the Year: Blake Collins.
Most Improved: Wes McKinnon.
President’s Award: Scott Lowe.
A highlight of the night was the bestowing of life membership on two of the Bears’ long term stalwarts Tony Northey and Tim Hughes.
Tim Hughes and Jarrod Miller were also acknowledged for playing over 100 games for the club.
Service to the club awards went to the Court House’s Ray Smith who along with his wife Joy were the club’s valued patrons and also Greg Smith for his efforts throughout the year.
It was a good night with coach Brett Ranse looking forward to next year and predicts a resurgence for the club.
