“Just call me Glenn,” was his down to earth introduction when he greeted the Mercury and just about anyone else in the big crowd who turned out to greet him at St Paul’s.
It was a refreshing change from the often stuffy presentation of senior men of the cloth of just about any denomination.
Most Rev Glenn Davies was visiting the most western outposts of his administration in the Sydney Diocese.
Beyond Portland it becomes the Anglican Diocese of Bathurst. Rev Davies preached at two packed services at St Paul’s on Sunday and later joined with the congregation for a luncheon that followed the 10am service.
He was greeted by the Minister of St Paul’s, Rev Mark Smith (right), and a big gathering of local Anglicans and interested visitors from other faiths.
