Ziggies took on Orange Wanderers at Orange and played some of their best hockey for a couple of months.
It was a first half onslaught by the Zig Zag when they scored all five goals in the first 30 minutes and looked anything of a side that was sitting at the bottom of the ladder.
Zig Zag and Wanderers had nothing to play for, but the torrent of goals that came thick and fast was impressive.
Luke Sheppeard was in the thick of the action, scoring a double and was the chief architect of the goals scored by Joe Radburn and Mitch Williams.
It was Ziggies' Mick Kelly that opened the scoring when he blasted home a short corner.
Wanderers only came from Adam Hurford, but that was the only joy that the Orange team had on the day who were four goals down at the time.
Ziggies' coach mark Sheppeard said: “The first half was great.
“I was really happy with our movement and use of the ball.
“But after halftime, we fell away with the intensity shown in the first half.
“In many ways it is been a difficult year with the lots of player absences through work and other issues.
“I was happy for the boys who have stuck true to go out with a good win under their belts.”
Ziggies scorers were Luke Sheppeard (2), Mick Kelly, Joe Radburn and Mitch Williams.
Best and fairest points went to: Joe Radburn (3), Ben Kelly (2) and Luke Sheppeard (1).
Others to play well were Nick Judge and Mitch Williams.
The team would like to thank coaches Mark Sheppeard and Don Wolfenden and manager Brian Kelly for their efforts during the year.
Thanks also to Jeff Geddes and the Lithgow Mercury for their support and to their main sponsor Club Lithgow.
Zig Zag's presentation night will be held on Saturday, October 18.
