With Todd Brownlow unavailable, and Ryley Hughes playing limited minutes due to a niggling foot injury, the Lazers got off to a good start.
Michael Cox went on an early shooting spree to give the Lazers the quarter 23-13.
This game allowed some bench players who have not been playing many minutes to take the court early and they did not let anyone down.
The players were injected into the game during the second quarter and played good basketball to give the Lazers the quarter 18-13.
The half time score was 41-26 to the Lazers.
During the break Lazers talked about practising our plays, and tighten our defence in preparation for the games ahead.
Lazers were scratchy at times in the third quarter and went away to the game plan, but still did enough to take the quarter 26-12.
The fourth quarter saw Lazers drop off with the players focussing on individualism more than teamwork with Dubbo taking the final quarter 26-12.
But the damage had already been done with the Lazers taking the game 87-64.
The team realised that there is still work to do in the next weeks, as they try to stay at the top of the table.
Coach Richard Marjoram is confident the team has the capacity to do this.
It was good to see the talented Ben Newham return after injury and showed his class with a handy nine points.
Scorers for Lazers were: Michael Cox 20, Matt Hughes 14, Adam Marjoram and John Fenton 11 each and Levi Roberts 9.
For Dubbo, Jason Woolmer was best with 16.
Lazers will be at home this Saturday night, in what will be possibly their last home game this season.
They play Bathurst at 6pm at the Barton Street Stadium and then will be away at Wagga Wagga the following weekend.
It will be a good night's basketball, so come on down as the Lazers really appreciate the support given by the local fans.
