First division
This was a great win as Orange CYMS came to Lithgow as equal leaders on the Group 10 ladder, but went down 26-24.
The Wolves played a brilliant first half and led 26-6 at the break and then had to hang on in the second half to score a win with CYMS coming home scoring 18 unanswered points.
Captain coach Kip Maranda was again inspirational taking on the CYMS' forwards with good support coming from his big men Brendan West, Mark Peters, Hayden Cornwell, Brett Monaghan and Brad Pender.
With premier league short, it meant a lot of reshuffling to the first division side, but the teamwork was outstanding with the experienced Chris Brown, Mick Case and Josh Howarth outstanding. Maranda said: “I was confident going into the match even though they were competition leaders.
“We went pretty well against them in the first round and we have a much better side now.
“We did not have much possession in the second half and it was good the way the boys hung in there for the win.”
Under 18
It was one way traffic very start with the second placed Wolves smashing last placed CYMS 44-6.
It took only a couple of minutes for the Wolves to open their scoring with Joel Gurney having a field day scoring three tries and kicking four goals for a personal tally of 20 points.
Wayde Egan was again at his scheming best with Nathan Redding running off some good balls to score two tries.
Centre Nathan Redding also had a good day scoring a double.
It was a good team effort and although they were running roughshod over CYMS they kept to the game plan that coach Ross Harrington sent them out with.
Darcy Allan, Matt Swift, Harry Bender and Eli Felton played well as did the rest of the team.
Oz League
It was a disappointing loss for the Wolves girl, but the good news is that they stay in the top five in fourth position.
Second placed CYMS scored a 22-6 win, but it was a lot closer that the scores indicated.
The Wolves made many breaks with only last ditch tackles or the final pass going astray costing them dearly.
Kirsty Willmott was great making numerous breaks up the middle with good support coming from Jenna Heath, Mallory Goodman, Tayla Gale and Gemma King.
Chrissy West was at her usual best scoring the lone try and kicking a goal.
