The boys belong to the Western Mariners squad taking in Under 9s through to Under 16s with the cream of Lithgow's best young players taking part.
All the boys are a part of the Skills Acquisition Program (SAP) that involves 18 rounds of soccer.
Matches are played on a home and away basis taking in Gosford, Sydney, Dubbo, Manly and Wollongong.
SAP teaches skills to early starters to give them the best possible learning environment, so they can realise their soccer dreams.
The Under 12, 13, 14 and 15s play in a division against teams from the Sydney, Gosford and Wollongong with some of the best young players in the land being involved in this division.
The boys could not be in better hands locally, with Brian Rosewarne who is acknowledged as one of the best soccer brains in the sport giving them a high level of coaching.
Brian also uses some of the older players in the squad such as Logan Inwood, Ashton Arnott-Webb and Tom Pottinger as assistant coaches.
Rosewarne said: “By using them as coaches, it rehashes what they learned when they first joined the group.
“All the players are dedicated and a joy to coach.
“There is some real talent in the squad and you can see why they have been picked up by the Western Mariners.”
The boys also train as a team in Bathurst and also Orange and play in the Regional Youth League competition.
It takes a lot of dedication – both from the players and their parents – but to go places in the sport, the youngsters have to put in the hard yards that keeps them in good stead as they progress through the age groups.
The boys would like to thank Brian (Rosewarne) for his time, dedication, experience and knowledge, it is greatly appreciated.
