THERE was plenty of enthusiasm at the local soccer – especially from the Workies Redback's younger players who had been out of action over the past couple of weeks due to the school holidays.

They showed that they had lost none of their skills over the break with some great games witnessed.
The Redbacks will have a big weekend of soccer with their competition today followed by tomorrow's seven a side competition.
This day is always looked forward to with a host of teams taking part in what is traditionally a great day's soccer.
Results from last round were:
Under 6:
Workies Whites' Joshua Doalman, Ben Achurch, Cody Johnson and Aleese Thompson played great attacking games with all four scoring.
Jade Fitzpatrick and Laken Crook gave good team support and displayed good passing skills.
Under 7:
Workies Whites were up against LCR Blue with Whites showing excellent team work and great ball control that ending in goals.
Liam Fitzpatrick, Erin Gray and Jett Shoard all finding the back of the goals.
Finn Marjoram and Alexander Joyce having great games also.
This week's award went to Jett Shoard.
Under 9:
Workies Reds took on Workies White in a thrilling and highly entertaining game. Workies White put the pressure on Workies Red from the very start.
Paul Dodson, Brock Ringin and Kaitlyn Shaw all played strong defence for red. Grace Perceval made several breaks down the line for her team.
Talyn Haynes-Milligan and Kendall Croucher both played goalies for red this week and made great saves for their team.
The Workies Wizards Award went to Talyn this week.
