Lithgow Buslines has submitted a proposal to council seeking alterations to the intersection to allow easier access into Hayley Street.
The company said the central median strip at the intersection is creating difficulties for drivers.
It also suggested that removal of one parking space on the western side of Hayley Street would also help relieve the problem.
The application was considered at the local traffic committee who subsequently reported back to council.
Operations Manager Iain Stewart aid the central median had been installed because of issues with drivers entering Hayley Street on the wrong side of the road.
There was also an issue with a ‘dip’ in the road.
He said that parking availability in that part of the city was at a premium.
It is no longer permissible to use intersection traffic domes that may have reduced the extent of the problem.
Council agreed to place the matter in abeyance so that further discussions could be held with the bus company in a bid to seek a solution to the problem.
