MEMBERS of the Inner Wheel Club of Lithgow gathered at Club Lithgow for the 55th Changeover with the master of ceremonies for the occasion being Marilyn Tully.

The officers for 2014-15 are: President Jeanie Cupitt, vice president Kaye Preema, secretary Inga Irvine, treasurer Dawn Bower, International Service Officer Kaye Preema, historian-club correspondent Gail Coates, members correspondentattendance Vanessa Glendinning, social convenor Heather Kelly, editor-Coin for Cord Patsy Mansell, publicity officer Sandra Mayne and public officer Gail Coates.
Special guests for the changeover were Past District Governor Ian Tooke, A50 District Inner Wheel chairperson Elizabeth Tooke and district chairman Patsy Mansell who were warmly welcomed.
Members were treated to a sumptuous meal with Sandra Mayne introducing guest speaker Lithgow mayor Maree Statham who congratulated the new executive and the members for their work they perform around the district.
Her speech was interesting and informative and enjoyed by all.
Following the president’s report president Jeanie Cupitt introduced this year’s executive.
“It has been another good year for Inner Wheel,” publicity officer Sandy Mayne said.
“Our members have been busy raising money for local and other good causes that include Lithgow Cancer Support Group, CareFlight, NSW Guide Dog Facility, Jack and Jill Pre-School, Lithgow Family Support and the Geldenhuys Children Fund.
“Our members are looking forward to an excursion to the NSW Guide Dog Facility.”
The members of Inner Wheel meet on the third Monday of every month at a member’s house where they knit rugs and make cuddly little comfort teddy bears.
The rugs and teddy bears are presented to Cooinda, Tanderra, Three Tree Lodge and Tabulam Cottages.
One of the rugs became a special gift this year as long term popular member Hilda Ramsden was one of the recipients.
The objects of Inner Wheel is to promote true friendship, encourage ideals of personal service and foster international understanding.
The afternoon concluded with everyone enjoying what was a lovely 55th Changeover.
