NATIONAL Tree Day gives all Australians the opportunity to beautify their local area, and no one undertakes the challenge with more gusto than Harry Bennett.
Harry, along with the rest of the team at Lean and Bennett Toyota Lithgow, have been proud sponsors of National Tree Day for many years.
Throughout the years of their support, they have provided thousands of trees to schools and 2012 was no exception.
Seven hundred trees from the Lithgow Community Nursery were distributed to schools across the region to be planted, protected, and nurtured.
All students enjoyed the opportunity to do something positive for the environment, while learning about native Australian fauna.
The students at Zig Zag Primary school particularly enjoyed the challenge, planting trees around the playground and surrounding areas.
They thank Harry Bennett for his ongoing association, generously donating many trees to repair, revegetate and restore the school’s and Australia’s landscape.
The pupils now have the task of protecting and maintaining the plants to ensure their survival.
