WAS last week’s snow across the region the final flutter of ‘real winter’?
One could hope so after what many long term residents believe has been one of our most bitter winters in years.
Wattle is now in full bloom and other traces of early spring blossom are already appearing so conditions may be on the turn.
History is not on our side though; the last crippling snowfall to bring the district to a standstill for two or three days occurred on the first day of spring.
Admittedly this was back in 1970 but what goes around comes around — eventually.
