The World War Two gun emplacements at Bowenfels have undergone some restoration work courtesy of Lithgow City Council, Lithgow State Mine Railway Ltd, participants in a Verto workplace program and Henry Plant and Equipment Hire.
When the work is completed and access issues sorted out by council, these 3.7” heavy artillery guns and the compounds should be available for locals and visitors to inspect.
