Wolves blitz Panthers

LITHGOW Workmens Club Wolves are well in the race for the minor premiership following their impressive 40-20 win over Bathurst Panthers at Carrington Park.

They are sitting equal second position one point behind Mudgee on 18 points in a log jam at the top of the ladder.

Cowra shocked Mudgee when they drew 22-all at Cowra.

Although the Wolves won, the Wolves dropped to third place on the ladder on points for and against after Orange CYMS scored a 48-14 win over Oberon.

Lithgow trail CYMS by four points with St Patricks the other team on 17 points.

The Wolves had too much class with the Panthers’ defence unable to contain the power running of second rower Jonathan Van Veen who finished with four tries.
