NO one attending the local Western Premier League hockey derby between Workies Panthers and Zig Zag would have seen the massive 9-2 scoreline coming when the undefeated Panthers ran riot over their arch rivals.
Zig Zag received a boost when their captain Ben Kelly was allowed to play after one of his yellow cards was deemed not to be a personal one and would have been further heartened when the news Workies Panthers goal scoring freak Brandon Horner was unavailable due to a previous engagement following the match being moved to Sunday afternoon.
Ziggies would have liked their chances as they had been playing some good hockey in recent weeks and it was only a week ago they should have beaten second placed Bathurst Souths while also scoring some good wins.
They did miss the experience of Brett Baker but even his presence would not have stopped the goal
