Expert coaching from the Swifts

LOCAL organisers of the Lithgow District Netball Association’s Susan Pratley Clinic were extremely pleased with the roll-up of young girls aged between 10 and 17 years with about 55 junior members of the association attending the clinic.

The girls enjoyed expert coaching from Sydney Swifts’ Susan Pratley who was assisted by Kristy Guthrie.

The girls ran the players through a number of drills covering fitness, movement and shooting techniques.

The girls enjoyed the clinic and will benefit greatly from their participation once the competition starts again next week.

Organisers said it was a pleasure to see just how enthusiastic and motivated the players were.

A number of local club coaches took the opportunity to attend the clinic to observe the activities and coaching techniques employed by Susan and Kristy, and are looking forward to applying their new found knowledge to their respective team coaching sessions.

Susan Pratley is in her fifth season with the Netball NSW Swifts and plays goal attack and goal shooter and is training hard to gain selection in the Australian Diamonds team for the 2012 Holden Netball Test Series.

Kristy Guthrie is in her first season with the Netball NSW Swifts and plays wing attack and centre and will also be participating in the Australian National League as a member of the Netball NSW Waratahs.
