LITHGOW Little Athletics staged a school holidays clinic late last week which was very well attended considering the inclement weather.
The young athletes rugged themselves up and turned out in force to be coached by NSW Little Athletics coaches Clare Maloney, Glen Howell and Dave Hudson.
“We were very happy with the turn-out,” Little Athletics’ Ray Stoneley said.
“The weather was fairly miserable and cold, but the young athletes enjoyed the day and are now looking forward to the resumption of the local Little Athletics competition days.
“To start with there will be two registration days.
“The first will be at McDonalds restaurant on Friday, August 24 from 4pm to 5pm, followed by another at the Jimmy Monaghan Athletics Track on Friday, August 31 again from 4 to 5pm.
“The club enjoyed a very successful season in 2011-12 with big numbers of our athletes making it to the zone championships where they went really well.
“Hopefully the weather will be a bit kinder next season and we anticipate another big roll up of budding young athletes, especially after they will be inspired from watching the London Olympics.”
