New CCTV cameras are watching you

THERE’S a great need than ever to show your best profile when getting about town in Lithgow these days.

Another two CCTV cameras are being installed by council in and around Main Street.

There’s a second camera to monitor movement around Cook Plaza and the entrance to the railway interchange and a new one scanning movement in four directions around the intersection of Main and Eskbank Streets.

The new cameras will, like those already in place, be linked to a full time monitor at the Lithgow police station.

It’s unfortunate that late night dopey behaviour forces this sort of civic expenditure, but that’s life.
