Nostalgia at Mt Victoria

IF you were a well heeled gangster in Chicago in the 1930s you were sure to impress if you used this Lincoln to do the rounds of the speakeasies.

The Lincoln, pictured here with an appropriately attired Diane Bayley, co-owner of the Mt Vic Flicks, was an American Rolls Royce of its era.

Last weekend it was a highlight of one of the most superb displays of classic motor vehicles seen in the region in years.

The cavalcade of motoring history was arranged by the Vauxhall Owners Club but included historic vehicles of many makes; including one interloper, a modern Ford GT40 supercar.

The owners spent the day at the Mt Vic Flicks and the Victoria and Albert Guest House while a constant stream of fascinated visitors inspected the treasured collection.

The day was organised as a celebration of Australian cinema and vintage cars.
