A SPOKESPERSON for the NSW Department of Finance and Services and Lithgow City Council have confirmed both bodies are currently in the discussion stage about new plans for the Housing Commission in Lithgow.
“The department is in discussions with Lithgow Council, and a whole bunch of ideas are on the table with a range of possibilities being discussed.
“However, no decision has yet been made,” the spokesperson said.
Lithgow City Council Group Operations manager Iain Stewart confirmed the Department of Finance was speaking with council about the area and said they were expecting a plan from them within the next couple of months.
“We understand they are looking at building a very modern subdivision in the area, but it is still in the very early planning stage,” Mr Stewart said.
Mr Stewart said council was also looking to clean up Emora Park and pull down the old pergola within the next couple of weeks.
