The Thursday Ladies Mid Week tennis started out a bit indecisive with the threat of rain but as the morning progress the weather improved and made for pleasant tennis.

The first match between Lambrusco and Merlot was very close with Lambrusco the victors winning 2 sets 34 games to 4 sets 32 games.

Both teams fought hard and there was some great shots.

Olive Ward was in fine form and with team mate Pam Field won their set 10 to 1.

Eileen Skinner, playing her last match of the comp before heading off on holidays, was Merlot’s best winning all her sets.

Once again the second match went down to the wire with Chardonnay winning 3 sets 36 games over Shiraz 3 sets 30 games.

Chardonnays Kym Swift was a force to be reckoned with winning all her sets.

Shiraz's captain Di Forester set a good example for her team displaying a vast array of strokes.

There will be the annual meeting on November 12.

If wet it will be held on November 19.
