PCYC judo fighters travelled to the Blacktown PCYC where youngsters gathered to pit themselves against each other in a contest of judo skills.
Young Lithgow star Jaikob Olliver was once again involved in the medal count with a hard fought second place after recently moving up a division from novices to graded fighters level.
This followed his promotion to orange belt after winning his class in Illawarra championships three weeks ago.
Returning to competition judo after a two month layoff was Daniel O'Kell who also scored a second place after a fight that had several stoppages due to malfunctioning timing equipment which affected his concentration.
Both boys are looking forward to competing in the coming NSW Country Championships in Wellington and also the next PCYC tournament with both competitions being held in late October.
Coach Steve Leadbeater was highly delighted with his fighters.
He also had another two second places from Heron Seymour and David Yao who hail from Lithgow’s sister club Burwood PCYC, giving him a total of four silver medals from his four fighters.
Boomerang judo clubs at both Lithgow and Burwood are now getting a reputation for providing top line fighters at the PCYC competitions who are regulars in the medal presentations.
