Club swimmers excel at school carnivals

11 Feb, 2012 03:00 AM
THE atrocious summer weather continued for the first Friday race night on the first swim meet back after the school holiday break.

The awful weather saw only 20 swimmers compete and the cool, rainy conditions meant there were not too many new personal bests (PBs) achieved.

With all the school and district carnivals now in progress all swimmers have been training hard and their efforts are paying off with some very good performances by the club members at their respective school carnivals.

Swimstar of the week was Emily Thompson for a great new PB in the 50m freestyle.

Swimmers of the week this week were: Stephanie Bird for a great new PB in the 50m breast; Luke Luchetti for a great new PB in the 25m back; Ethan Pringle for three terrific swims.

Personal best times achieved by all swimmers were: Three times Ryan Bird and Blake Holmes; two times Lauren Field; one time Stephanie Bird, Alanna Holmes, Luke Luchetti, Jarrad Pringle, Kory Pringle and Emily Thompson.
