Minister for Lands, Tony Kelly, has announced the appointment of new members to two trusts that manages Hartley and Capertee Recreation Reserves.
Lynda Lovegrove and Fiona Joy have been appointed to the Hartley Reserves Trust while Susan Bennett has been appointed to the Capertee Recreation Reserve Trust.
Seamus Casey, Ian Campbell, Rosemary Barber (Hartley), Brian Kuhner, Bertie Fuller and Arthur Bennett (Capertee) have been reappointed.
“Both reserves are used for passive recreation activities and community events including meetings, barbecues, picnics and school fetes.
“Backed by the skills, experience and enthusiasm of trust members, the NSW Government is working hard to protect important community assets and encouraging people to use them.
“The Rees Government is very grateful for the efforts of all the trust members who help manage some of the 33,000 Crown reserves across NSW.
Member for Bathurst, Gerard Martin thanked the new trust members for their commitment.
“There are some 6000 volunteers whose invaluable work helps maintain more than 700 reserves across the state for public use,” Mr Martin said.
“There are plenty of opportunities for those who want to contribute to their local community by volunteering for a range of trusts that include public halls, parks and reserves, and sportsgrounds.
“I encourage people to seriously consider getting involved with their local trust.
“Trust members are eligible for the annual Lands Crown Reserve Trust Award which recognises the important work trust members do for the community.
