The climate change event held at the Blast Furnace Park last Friday was a great success.
Organised by the Lithgow Environment Group, local residents joined to form a 350 marking the sustainable level of CO2 concentration in the atmosphere.
The image from 'Lithgow Australia' was among the first to be sent out for this global event.
There were more than 145 similar events in Australia held over the weekend.
The aim was to express people’s concern about climate change in the hope that this will support world leaders to come up with positive agreements when they meet in Copenhagen in December.
In front of the ruins of the Blast Furnace people gathered to form the number 350, the upper limit of parts per million of carbon dioxide (CO2) in the atmosphere at which life on earth can be sustained.
