Local Lithgow personality nominates for Calare

There has been a surprise last minute nomination for the seat of Calare in the federal election.

The nomination has come from a well known Lithgow personality Macgregor Ross.

Mr Ross is best known as the creator of the hugely successful annual Ironfest carnival in Lithgow.

Ross will be hard pressed to show what he really believes in: more money and power for himself I think. He might want to be King of Lithgow, but he really has very little to offer people who don't want to be his 'loyal subjects'. Popularism does not equal real talent, ability and wisdom.
