Threats against police and a former girlfriend have resulted in a jail sentence for a Wallerawang man who appeared in the latest sittings of Lithgow Court.
Twenty six year old Steven Bratcher was charged with intimidating police in the execution of their duty and with contravening a community service order that had been imposed for an earlier offence.
The Court was told the offences had occurred in the Windsor area in 2006.
Police said Blatcher had made around 20 threatening phone calls to his ex girlfriend.
Police attended the woman’s address and while there spoke to the defendant on the phone.
He claimed to have a pistol and threatened to shoot police if they attempted to arrest him.
The Court was also told that Blatcher had failed to turn up for any of the previously imposed community service requirements, claiming that he was unable to attend as he was working seven days a week.
On the charge of intimidating police he was sentenced to nine months jail with a non parole period of six months.
He was sentenced to a further six months for contravening the community service order, the sentences to be served concurrently.
