Fashion and fun for the big race

05 Nov, 2009 08:33 AM
The annual Lithgow Workmens Club Melbourne Cup Fashion Parade drew a large crowd on cup day.

There was a wide selection of outfits from semi-formal to casual, representing the fashions styles from young to the more mature woman as 32 ladies took to the floor for a twirl.

The $500 first prize for best dressed went to Carmen Pettitt.

There were two entries in the men’s category, guaranteeing a first and second place, making winner Guy Day and runner-up Gary Nicholas very happy.

Lesser categories won a bottle of wine each.

It was a lot of fun and the highlight of the Melbourne Cup race day, coming second only to the race itself.
