Council has successfully negotiated with the Central West Business Enterprise Centre (CWBEC) to provide regular local business advisory services to the Lithgow Local Government Area in a permanent central venue.
In 2002 the Lithgow Business Enterprise Centre closed as a result of the consolidation of these services in NSW.
Since this time the Business Enterprise Centre in Orange has being providing face-to-face services for clients in the Lithgow Local Government Area as and when required at a range of venues.
“This partnership with the CWBEC based in Orange to provide a permanent venue for them to assist our local businesses and those considering a business venture will provide the community with a more convenient and accessible service,” Mayor Neville Castle said.
“Members of the community will be able to schedule face-to-face meetings with the BEC Business Facilitator in a central venue.
“I am thrilled that the BEC and Council have successfully partnered to improve this crucial local service,” he said.
The BEC’s Business Facilitator, John Leonard, will use the study room located in the Lithgow Library to provide this business assistance.
Initially, the BEC representative will use the facility on a monthly basis.
This may increase in regularity subject to demand for the service.
This new arrangement is scheduled to commence on December 9.
Services offered by the BEC include free business advisory service, business planning and recordkeepingl.
Those wanting to make an appointment with Mr Leonard can call him on 6332 1077 to schedule a time.
Flexible times can still be arranged between the BEC representative and clients using the library’s venue subject to availability.
