 A day for celebration

A day for celebration

18 Oct, 2009 01:55 PM
Bernadette Woolsey from the Benevolent Society was kept busy painting faces in Cook Plaza for Lithgow’s NAIDOC Day.

Although the skies threatened to spill, the rain held off for a very successful event.

The day was started at the Council Chambers where the Aboriginal Flag was raised, with the group then moving to Cook Street Plaza to continue the celebrations.

There was also a live performance with onlookers treated to songs from Jacinta Tobin.

There was face painting, a sausage sizzle and information stalls and support from Diabetes Australia NSW, Sydney West Area Health Service, NSW Health, NSW Fire Brigade, Living Longer Mootang Tarimi and LINC’s Healthy and Active Lithgow.
